Challenge #36 - Exodus 20:12

A blessed Sunday to you! Welcome to Stampin' Sisters in Christ, where our challenges are inspired by scripture! We hope you will be blessed by your time with us!

Our sponsor this week is Softpencil Digital Stamps. Woo hoo! I LOVE Elizabeth's images!!! I have several, and used one of them for my card today. One of you lucky ladies will win a $15 Gift Certificate to spend at Softpencil Digital Stamps!!! Be sure to stop by and show Elizabeth some love! I just noticed that she has two new images that are PERFECT for Mother's Day cards!!!

 Thank you Elizabeth!!!

Now, on to this week's scripture and challenge! Our hostess this week is the irrepressible Randi Barrett. Randi is such a joy to have on our Design Team... she keeps us laughing all the time. She has such a big heart and Godly spirit, and has faced many health trials, but never ceases to thank God for his rich blessings in her life.

This week I have been with my son's family and have been enjoying all things grandmotherly.  I have played the same computer game at least 10 times, eaten several pieces of plastic pizza,  imaginary soup and cake, and even had my hair styled several times a day. Of course, cutting, coloring, stamping, and gluing were high on the list of must-do activities. The most joyful part of being a grandmother is the chance to mother again. Looking at life through the eyes of a child is one of the most endearing moments in our lives.

My inspiration scripture this week is Exodus 20:12 "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the Lord your God gives you." Ephesians 6:2 says it is the first commandment with a promise...the promise of long life.

Mothers know best, don't they?  From the moment we give birth we offer wisdom to our children.  "Clean your room, take a bath, eat your vegetables, be kind and love the Lord with all your heart, mind, and soul," are just a few small and great lessons we teach our children. As we approach Mother's Day, phone calls will be made, flowers will be sent and dinners will be served as we honor those special ladies in our life.  Even when words of thanks can no longer be expressed to our loved ones directly, we are thankful for their guidance and direction.
The challenge this week is to make a MOTHER'S DAY card/project.

For inspiration, behold the MOTHER'S DAY cards and projects from our Design Sisters:

Candace Mitchell: Candid Candace

We can't wait to see all of YOUR Mother's Day creations! You may enter as many times as you'd like!** Please link us to your actual card/project post(s), not just to your blog or gallery, by 11:59 pm PDT (GMT -8) on Saturday, May 1st.

The winner of the $15 Gift Certificate to Softpencil Digital Stamps will be randomly drawn and announced on Tuesday May 4th. Plus, three of you will be awarded the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Shining Star blinkie!

**If you are entering more than one card for this challenge, please leave a link for each card/project.

Have a blessed day!

I loved reading what you wrote Randi. I don't have a mom so this challenge is hard for me but I did make a card yesterday that I would like to share that could be used for somebody that is special to you like a mom.

A great challenge Randi! I loved reading your thoughts too... it's hard when our own Mothers are no longer with us but we all can reflect on those special people in our lives who have influenced us... and for me, as a grandmother now, I am so enjoying watching my own daughter as she mothers her own children! I am truly blessed to have grandchildren who know Jesus as their Savior and love Him... and their mothering has a lot to do with that! So we can honor not only our Moms, but our children, sisters, aunts, all those wonderful women in our lives! Have a blessed day ladies! I'm going to get some Gramma time today too! :)
