Challenge #10 - I Chronicles 16:34

This challenge is now CLOSED for prize entries. Please feel free to use as inspiration =)

Happy Sunday! This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! (I love that, don't you?)

Welcome to Challenge #10! Our sponsor this week is a company that I had not yet heard of, but I'm glad I do now! It's called Rubber Stamp Shack and, as their by-line says, they carry unique and hard-to-find stamps. I browsed through their site and saw several that jumped right out at me as must-haves! You'll love to know that they carry some awesome scripture sets, one of which is being offered as the prize for this week's challenge:

Look at all that goodness! Thanks Barbara!!!

SCRIPTURE

Laurie Gatton is our hostess this week and she chose the scripture I Chronicles 16:34 “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” (NIV)

Here's what Laurie has to say:

One of my favorite Bible verses is I Chronicles 16:34 “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” In my college speech class, the professor assigned a Philosophy of Life speech where each student had to evaluate & present their philosophy of life. The Lord used a song to give me what has become my philosophy: Thankfulness keeps my eyes on God, not me. It’s always easier to be thankful during times when things are going my way, but not so much when I feel a struggle at every turn. Of course, we all struggle with doubts and fears. Our minds can get on a one-way track, right? And no one will disagree that life is hard, especially when circumstances beyond our control are put upon us. The song, Thank You, Lord, speaks of thanking the Lord for those trials & the Spiritual growth that comes from thankfulness. I don’t remember if it was a popular song on the radio or not, so maybe you’ve never heard it. Just in case you haven’t, here’s the last line, which reminds us why we thank Him:

"I thank you, Lord, for the victory that growing brings. In surrender of everything, life is so worthwhile. And I thank you, Lord, that when everything’s put in place, out in front I can see Your face, and it’s there You belong."

This song still comes to mind when I have those days where the burdens and trials are outweighing everything else.

My card may be different than others but I'm thankful that I can cast my cares upon the Lord because he does care for me and love me. I'm most thankful for that.

I am trying to learn to do Photobucket so I hope the link works. I am most thankful for Christ's birth, the real reason for celebrating Christmas.

I thought I left a post and voila, it seems to have disappeared! Let's try again! I agree that Laurie's reminder is a great way to start and continue through the week! The stamp set being offered this week from our sponsor has so many great words of encouragement too, I feel encouraged just reading them! Lots of great reminders.
